This paper is in the field of mathematics. it is intended for a study concerning determination of critical load on rods with mathematics formulas. Diffraction equation or rod deflection is written in the form of Ordinary Differential Equation with boundary condition. As a problem in this paper is how to determine the characteristic and determination of the roots of characteristic equation of a rod having deflection experience with the existence of load on the rod. In this paper the problem will be limited to a rod which experience load where Hooke's Law is still valid and the method for the determination of characteristic equation and its roots is limited on Fadeev Leverrier method and Bairstow's method.
