As the main actuator of a shaper machine, a hydraulic cylinder has better performance than an electro-mechanic actuating system. A hydraulic system has better cuttingspeed and constant force. In designing of an hydraulic cylinder, counting the cutting power and force, and choosing the right cylinder material considering the strength of material will give the best hydraulic cylinder specification.
