Isi artikelThe research was done to know the influence of cutting speed value and the depth to the one criteria of product quality, the roughness of the low carbon steel work piece's surface also to determine the appropriate of cutting speed value. This research used CNC DMC 63 V milling machine with end-mill inserted tip carbide. The research was done on 7 specimens, which had different cutting speed values, between 70 — 160 m/minute. Using 5 cutting depth steps, between 0.5 — 2.5 mm, processed each specimen. The result shows that the appropriate cutting speed value in order to process the specimens is 145 rn/minute. From the research's result also obtains that less depth ofcut used in specimen's machining process gives smoother surface.
