Chronic daily headache (CDH) defined as headaches occurring at least 15 days per month and lasting about .four hours daily. CDH are classified as either primary or secondary. The term CDH encompasses those primary headaches. Primary headaches are categorized according to duration. Under the general term of’ CDH, Silberstein and Lipton classified these headache into chronic tension-type headache (CTTH), transformed migraine (TM) or chronic migraine (CM), new daily persistent headache (NDPH), and hemicrania continua (HC). Each of’ the CDH categories can meet or not criteria for symptomatic medication overuse. Successful control of CDH requires earnest commitment from both patients and physician. Most CDH sufferers respond best to a combination of behavioral and pharmacological intervention.
