Isi artikelThe purpose of this research is to know : (1) the population density of Aedes aegypti larva, (2) House Index value of Aedes aegypti larva, (3) Container Index value of Aedes aegypti larva, and (4) types of container as the breeding place of Aedes aegypti to Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever’s endemic area, in Sawahan district, Surabaya muncipality. This research is a descriptive research. Besides in the houses of haemorrhagic fever’s, the sample was taken from eigh houses surrounding the houses of haemorrhagic’s sufferers in the distansce of 20 meters, and 40 meters from the sufferer’s houses. In every house, the breeding places of Aedes aegypti were found out and identified. All larvae that were found in the breeding places were counted, then the House Index value and the Container Index value for May, June, July and August 1998 were found out. The result of the research shows that (1) the density of Aedes aegypti larva was the highest in Juli 1998 and the lowest, in August 1998, (2) the value House Index was 66,67% in May, June, August 1998, Whereas it was 55,56% in Juli, (3) the value of Container Index were successively 39,13%; 26,87%; 32,00%; and 23,08% in May, june, July and August 1998, (4) the most types of Aedes aegypti breeding place in foerms of bath tank, cement vessel, WC tank, water jar, pail and ritual ablution place.
