The purposes of this study were to define the possibilities of pregnancy inhibition, foetus number reduction as well as altered oestrous cycle on mice (Mus musculus) vaccinated with fraction-3 goat zona pellucida. For the first immunization, gZP3 suspension was mixed with Complete Freund’s Adjuvant (CFA) 1:1 while for the booster, which were carried out twice with the interval of 11 days, the suspension was mixed with Incomplete Freund’s Adjuvant (IFA) 1:1. Five days after the final injection, the mice were bred, the oestrous cycle were observed daily by means of vaginal smear evaluation while the pregnancy rate and foetus number were observed surgically 18 days after the breeding time. Results showed that there were no significantly difference on the oestrous cycle between the control group and the treated groups (p >0.05). Pregnancy rates of the control group and the treated group were rather similar, and the same was true for among of the treated groups (p >0.05). It could be concluded that vaccination by using gZP3 did not interfered with the oestrous cycle pattern and foetus number. However, conceptions might be inhibited, therefore the pregnancy rates decreased.
