Isi artikelViability of bovine oocytes after vitrification using cryoprotectant ethylene glycol was studied in 187 mature oocytes. Oocytes were exposed to 10, 20, and 30 minutes to a vitrification solution consisting of (1). 40% Etylene Glycol + 0,3M Sucrose, (2). 40% Etylene Glicol + 0,3M Sucrose + 6% Bovine Serum Albumin. Oocytes were kept in Open Pulled Straw, and then plunged into liquid nitrogen rapidly. After 2-4 weeks, the frozen oocytes were thawed in a 30°C water bath and washed twice in 0,5 M Sucrose. Viability of oocytes was examined morphologically using inverted microscope and their life using fluorescent microscope. There were no significantly differences (p > 0,05) for normal morphological oocytes among treatment EG+S and EG+S+BSA groups (91,04% and 95,30%,), and their life (75,90% and 83,65%). There were no significantly differences (p > 0,05) in the normal morphological oocytes among treatment of exposure time 10, 20, and 30 minutes (92,22%, 94,27%, and 93,02% respectively), and oocytes life (73,76%, 83,86%, and 81,71% respectively). Combination of cryoprotectants and exposure time also did not differ significantly (p > 0,05) in the normal morphological and the oocytes life. It is concluded that EG combination with Sucrose have similar ability to oocytes viability after vitrification. The use of BSA did not contribute a beneficial effect for bovine oocytes vitrification.
