It had been conducted the study of amlodipine on its sffect to reduce the gastric acid secretion. The study was performed on albino mice strai Wistar, that the gastric acid production was induced by carbamacholine (acetylcholine group). This study used 5 groups of mice, 6 mice each. The gastric juice was collected by method of pylorus ligation. Group I was non induced mice; group II was induced only by carbamacholine 1 mg/kg-bw and group III, IV, V were induced by carbamacholine 1 mg/kg-bw for each group plus amlodipine 2 mg/kg-bw (group III), 4 mg/kg-bw (group IV) and 8 mg/kg-bw (group V) respectively. The collected gastric juice was titrated with Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) 0.0119 N to determine the acidity of gastric juice. The statistical analysisi was performed by ANAVA. The results show that amlodipine 4 mg/kg-bw and 8 mg/kg-bw were be able to reduce the acidity of gastric juice compare to the control group (p < 0.05) There were no statistical differences between these group (IV and V). The reducing of juice volume was not detected in this study.
