According to Central Statistical Beureau year 2001, Population of Palembang is about 1.47 1.443, comprise 732.564 (49.79%) males and 738.879 (50.2 1%) females. Palembang, now, is one of five big cities in Indonesia. Population of Palembang recently is about 1.6 million people. From Household survey (Erika Buchari, 1997), it was apparent that female trips 50, 58%, which were slightly higher than of male trip of 49,42%. Moreover, it was found that 57.10% were car owner, while 42.90% car owner. Priority of using car at household was for male. There are two hypotheses of female trip behaviors, firstly, if females have priority of driving cars, usually they make more than one trips, such as take or pick up children to or from schools, shopping, meeting at work. Secondly, as public transport users, female choose save energy transportation, which provide door to door service such as non formal public transport or even they break the rule by asking public transport to stop not in the right place. This study tried to prove the above hypotheses. The study covered home interview survey. The result showed the trip chain of females and their behavior of choosing transport modes.
