In addition, substantial improvements have been made in business operations and product development throuh the use of IT. Consumers are also likely to be beneficiaries of the movement to higher bandwidth communications, because it will provide better services from many of the institutions, such as hospitals and HMOs, that consumers depend upon for the delivery of services. In the future, the expansion of the availability of on - line services is likely to offer further improvements for consumers by reducing the time to obtain services and goods.
