Hybrid Composite that arranged from Eceng Gondok (natural) and synthetic fiber (E-Glass) is proposed to seek of alternative composite materials that not depend from synthetic fiber. Compound of Eceng Gondok and synthetic fiber (E-Glass) are expected to overcome disadvantage of reinforcement fibers. The purposed of this research is to know influence of variance volume fraction Eceng Gondok and synthetic fiber in polyester hybrid composite to tensile and impact strength. Volume fraction ratios of E-Glass (TGFR-L 4400) and Eceng Gondok in 20% total fiber are 2%; 18%; 6%; 14%; 10%; 10%; 14%; 60%; I 8%; 2%. Matrix used saturated polyester Yucalac type 157 BQTN-EX and catalyst used methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) 1% from volume fraction of matrix. The result showed that increase volume fraction of E-Glass fiber and followed by decrease of volume fraction Eceng Gondok fiber in polyester hybrid composite increase longitudinal tensile and impact strength. This with breaking form showed ductility increase. The highest tensile and impact strength at volume fraction ratio 18%; 2%.
