Isi artikel
Breast cancer in men is uncommon, but its clinical presentation, pathology, and natural history are similar to those of the disease tn women. Men are older and in more advanced stages of the disease than are women when diagnosed, the tumors are located more frequently beneath the nipple, and the tumors are more often responsive to hormonal therapy, but otherwise, differences are negligible. Modified radical mastectomy has replaced radical mastectomy for surgical treatment of early stages, and systemic adjuvant therapy appears to improve the prognosis of cases with involvement of regional lymph nodes. An analysis of 156 cases from the greater Milwaukee area confirms these trends.
