Isi artikel
Infection in a wound is a manifestation of a disturbed host-bacteria equilibrium in favor of the bacteria. This inhibits the multiple processes involved in the wound healing scheme because each process involved in healing can be shown to be affected by bacteria. Prevention or management of wound infections requires an understanding of how each prophylactic or therapeutic maneuver will work to maintain or reestablish the bacterial host balance. Only when this equilibrium is in balance can tile normal processes of wound healing proceed to give a satisfactory healing trajectory.
