During the last decade, there has been a proliferation of new interventional technologies used in the treatment of aortoiliac and distal peripheral vascular occlusive disease. The proper use of these techniques requires experience in patient selection and knowledge of favorable and unfavorable anatomic circumstances. New options in therapy are reviewed along with specific indications for angioplasty and stent placement.
