Isi artikel
Children have special nutritional needs that are accentuated by illness and surgical stress. Over the past 50 years, tremendous advances have been made in the management of children who cannot receive enteral nutrition, as described by the authors. Remaining challenges include the reduction in the risk of sepsis, particularly in children with short-bowel syndrome, delineation of the risk factors for cholestasis, and refinement of administralion of parenteral nutrition to premature neonates.
