Although many economists attribute the strength of japanese companies to their cooperative business management styles and their employment systems, we also cannot ignore the advantageous feaatures of the financing system for these japanese companies, especially the system enabled by the potential value of assets. However, with the gradual decrease in linkages between keiretsu relationships and cross - shareholding systems, opportunities for foreign companies to benefit from corporate financing in japan may increase. This article surveys current trends in japanese keiretsu and financing systems as well as an efficient way for foreign companies to make investments in the japanese market.
