This research is aimed at knowing the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) of the bank in South Sulawesi in connection with the level of bank credit expansion. A high LDR reflects on the rise of the level of bank credit expansion. The result of the research points that during a time of crisis LDR of the banks in South Sulawesi experiences a decrease, however, slowly, it starts going up again in the following years. Last 2003 LDR banking has surpassed the minimum that has been determined. For this, it ‘s still needed to expand further the bank credit expansion because in this way it can help raise the investment and ultimately can raise the local economic growth.
