Isi artikelPediatric fractures are seen commonly in emergency departments. Pediatricians are usually the first physicians to assess injured children. Pediatricians should be comfortable in evaluating the fracture and interpreting radiographs prior to consulting an orthopedist. An understanding of the differences between pediatric and adult bone makes the assessment of children and their radio-graphs easier. Musculoskeletal injuries, fractures, and sprains are common, most of which require minimal care. Growth plate injuries, however, [pose a risk for permannent deformity and must be managed with care.
