Isi artikel
The management of infants and children with sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL), particularly if newly identified, should involve the coordinated efforts of pediatricians, otolaryngologists, audiologists, and aural habilitation specialists. Parent counseling and interaction with local school districts to advocate for the child with a hearing loss may also be required as the family is confronted by a series of difficult choices about the child’s care, treatment, and education. This article addresses the management of common problems, such as otitis media in children with SNHL, and provides an overview of sensory aids, such as conventional hearing aids and cochlear implants.
