The first menses marks an important point in the life of an adolescent. Menarche ussually signifies the end of the pubertal process and marks the beginning of the reproductive age. After menarche, there are a number of common menstrual disorders that the adolescent may face, including irregularities in menstrual flow, dysmenorrhea, and premenstrual symptoms. This article reviews these common disorders.
