This article analyzes policy agenda for economic recovery. The indonesian economy suffers from a very high rate of inflation, high rate of unemploymnet, significant drop in agricultural production, and increasing trend of poverty incidence. The social safety net (SSN) program should not be implemented in a systematic and mechanistic way of development programs, instead of ad - hoc programs as usual. This implies a significant change in the structure of state budget (APBN) particularly in the coming years. Efforts to achieve good leadership governance to combat corruption collusion and nepotism (KKN) shall restore confidence for the investment environment, thus significantly contribute to economic recovery. Business confidence is needed to reduce the high - cost economy, which could be achieved through the successful fair competition law, and empowerment of small and medium - scale enterprises. Improving the performance of banking sector should obtain a high priority in the economic agenda. All still depends on political stability. Therefore, political scientists and politicians should seek the best compromise for the future of indonesian political agenda.
