These days, modern electrical and electronic equipment involve various types of power control and non-linear load that produce electrical pollution known as harmonics. Since the number of installed equipments rises, and without strong standards back-up by enforcement measures, it’s likely that harmonics pollution will continue to increase. This situation leads risks to industries and business that needs to manage the investment in good practice and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipments. This paper presents the facts and showing the way to understand what is important about harmonics which could be a challenge for those without electrical background.
