Isi artikelEFL Students' success in writing is determined by many factors, such as writing strategies, intelligence, personality, and their attitude towards writing. However. the hot issue in this field in the last two decades is learning (writing) strategies, in this case, the strategies used by students in the process of writing. This paper investigates the relationship among the factors, especially the writing strategies, and the success in Writing B at the English Department of Widya Mandala Surabaya Catholic university Indonesia. On one hand, using Pearson correlation, it was found out that the achievement in Writing li was mostly influenced by students' attitude towards the subject. The more positive attitude they had. the higher their achievement. On the other hand, the total strategies used by the students did not affect significantly to their achievement. However, the strategy one. making outline, and the strategy two rechecking the draft do have significant correlation at 0.05 level
