Isi artikel
Pediatric intensive care has come of age in the past decade. Its central importance to the practice of children’s medicine, children’s hospitals, and children’s health care delivery systems is established. The most severely threatened and critically ill children require the most sophisticated technologic support, and this support is required in an extremely timely fashion. Minutes of delay can be costly, and care outside of the “golden hour” can be ineffective. Continuous, meticulous support of the critical care environment for the creation and delivery of critical care medicine for children is a highly complex and challenging specialty.
