Isi artikelIn their preface to the three executive presentations, steers and miller argue, with evidence that the united states is anything but strong competitively in the global market place. Encouraging however are the reports from with cummins engine. If these two companies were representatie of U.S. industry today, perhaps the bleak picture that steers and miller paint would soon be fading. Gilmour's back to basics message is loud and clear. it is a simple as people want good valure for their money. Yet it is extremely difficult and complex to maintain motivation and momentum during times of prosperity since it is have been achieved. Therefore to my way of thinking, gilmour emphasized three primary points that must remain uppermost for management thinking and priorities. First, customers want value for their money. Second, customers couldn't care less about who made the product or who provides the service as long as they obtain value for their money. Gilmour's additional point that customers really do not care about whether the company uses quality circles, robots, or whatever the latest in management and technology may be is especially worthy of note. Customers want results, they have little or no interest in hearing about the process.
