Isi artikel
Acrylic resins as the denture bases are in intimate contact with a large area of oral mucosa. There material are used continously over a long period of time. Thus it is important to study the biocompatibility of the resins. After polymerization reactions, various amounts of methyl mehacrylate monomer remain in the acrylic resins. Part of the residual monomer is gradually leahed out, that may be reacted against oral mucosa. The pupose of polymerized (heat-activated and microwive-activated) from two brands of denture base acrylic resins (Biocryl and QC), on the viability of culture baby hamster kidney (BHK-21) cell line. The data were analyzed with t test and one way anva. The result this study indcated that cell viability of resin disks from microwareactivated more higher than heat-activated resin disks, it means that microwareactivated methode of polymerized more biocompatible than heat activated. And there were no significant difference between Biocryl and QC, that means the two brands of materials were compatible.
