Isi artikel
The primary goal of this article was to identify recent randomized, controlled trials that evaluated the efficacy of psychosocial and behavioral interventions for family caregivers of patients often seen by geriatric psychiatrists and to describe and synthesize the findings of these studies. Caregiving studies for Alzheimers disease, stroke, and mental illness are included that, together, account for a large proportion of the published caregiver intervention studies. Discussion focuses on intervention studies that involved psychosocial treatment for caregivers and also included environmental and behavioral interventions for the care recipient.
