Government accountability in democratic countries requires that governments provide transparant information to the public about plans and realization of planned activities as part of the governments' accountability for mandates given by the public to govern and allocate resources. This paper discusses concisely the meaning of government accountabiltiy and it's importance, including it's elements and measurements. Also presented are the relevant laws and rules of government accountability in indonesia.
