The incidence of heart failure has increased in recent decades. despite recent achivements in the treatment of heart failure, the prognosis is still poor. hypertension is one of the most important risk factors for the development of heart failure. mechanisms which maintain normal function of the heart in the short term in hypertrophy and chronic activation of the adrenergic and renin-angiotensin systems.
