Isi artikel
Helicobacter pylori 9H. pylori) plays a decisive role in gastrointestinal (GI) diseases. Currently reveral diagnostic tests are available for detection of H. pylori infection. A quick, reliable, non invasive, and relatively affordable test is necessary to detect the H. pylori infection. Here we determine the accuracy of two serological tests. Onco H. pylori and cobas core anti H. pylori EIA (CC anti H. pylori). One hundred sixty eight patients whi were undergoing endoscopies for chronic dyspepsia at endoscopy centers in several hospitals in jakarta were enrolled. Infection status of each patient was previously determined by rapid urease test and bacterial culture. Eighty seven of the patients were positive for H. pylori infection and their srum samples were subjected to both serological tests. Sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value for onco H. pylori and CC anti H. pylori were 94,3 and 80,5%, 88,9 and 84%, 90.1 and 84,3% and 93,5 and 80% respectively. Therefore, onco H. pylori may serve as the first line detection for H. pylori infection the GI disease.
