Isi artikelTo participate in the effort of exploring the role of language teaching or learning variables to student's ability in writing the argumentative essay in order that one day the effective ways of establisment can be defined, this research is carried out. the aims of this research are to know wheter or not there are (1) the difference of the argumentative-essay-writing ability (or so-called kma standing for kemampuan menulis karangan argumentasi) between the ipa and the ips students, (2) the difference of kma between students whose interest to the bahasa Indonesia lesson (or so called mpbi standing for minat terhadap mata pelajaran bahsa Indonesia) are high and those whose are low, and (3) the interaction of role or effect of student's field of study and mpbi variables to their kma.
