The states in southeast asia, anmely indonesia, malaysia, the phillipines, thailand, singapore, brunei darussalam, vietnam, cambodia, laos and myanmar, and the three countries in northeast asia, namely china, japan and south korea, were eager to hold the first east asia summit (EAS) in kuala lumpur, december 2005. This effort was considered as a very ambitious project, since the forum included india, australia and new zealand. The summit was attended by 16 states altogether....
