Last november an elementary school pupil was murdered by a peruvian man in the city of hiroshima and in february this year two preschoolers were killed by a woman from china. These two shocking incidents, occuring in such a short interval and taking the lives od innocent young children, caused many japanese to realize that crimes by foreigners can occur close to home and are not some far away phenomenon, as they had perviously tended to think.
