Isi artikelOral malignancy is frequently diagnosed at the alte stage, leading to delays in treatment and a poor prognosis. Delays in diagnosis have been related to the absence of a routine examination to detect oral malignancy and the clinician's lack of knowledge and experince in performing examination to detect oral malignancy at an early stage. The purpose of this paper was to describe several critical points to which clinicians need to pay more attention in performing clinical examination to detect oral malignancy at an early stage. Conclusison : Dentists and physicians need to perform annual routine examinations to detect oral malignancy at an early stage, especially to those who are over 40 years old and considered as having risk factors such as tobacco and alcohol consumption. Lesions that should be treated woth suspicion include leukoplakia, erythroplakia, leukoerythroplakia, and persistent ulceration which has lasts for more than 10 days.
