The most territories in indonesia are categorized into moderate abd geavy seismic zone. Consequently the modeling and analysis of seismic resistant building in indonesia become popular and important. The current trend of seismic resistant building concept, which is performance based design is used. Open frame building with special moment resisting frame system, ten stories and regular reinforced concrete building, that is used in this study, is designed and evaluate using direct displacement based design and pushover analysis. The ultimate base shear obtained from the direct displacement based design method is compared to the base shear obtained from the pushover analysis. A comparison of T(eff) between the result from the direct displacement based design method and the pushover analysis is studied.
