The study objective was to explore the implementation of basel II as a framework that would further strengthen the soundness and stability of the international banking system, including in indonesia especially for the minimum equiy capital requirement. The problem is whether the banking system in indonesia has adequate preparation to anticipate the minimum equity capital requirement and the implementation of single resence policy. Based on the analysis, the banking system in Indonesia in general is not fully prepared yet, and therefore it should be reconsidered as well as the period of implementation of the minimum equity capital requirement and single presence policy.
