This writing discusses about the english vocabulary as one of the language components that is very important to have the four language skills. No body can speak english if he does not have enough english words needed basically to express his idea. So, the teaching of words is a must. in order to get the english vocabulary ability, the teachers have to train their students to memorize the words through the drill. Words actually can be divided into content words and function words. The content words are necessary to express cultural content and always in growing. The function words are seen as belonging more to grammar of a language than to its vocabulary and they are chiefly used to express gramatical functions. In brief, it is out of question to be able to communicate in a language without having enough vocabulary.
