Programs to seed international collaborations are always popular in principle, but relatively few have produced significant commercial outcomes. One possible exception is a joint project between the state of Texas and the UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) launched in 2003, which is just about to spin off its first venture in the form of an anti infective company.
