Isi artikelOver the past fifty years, the Japanese people have worked hard to creat great economic growth and in the process, the structure of industry has changed and many young people have moved from farm villages to the cities. As a result, the form of the family has changed and the number of nuclear families has increased dramatically. There is system still affects Japanese society, but its influence has been gardually lost in the younger generation. The kaku kazoku or nuclear family has been established up until today. In the kaku kazoku the number of persons who stay together in one family has been reduced. The problem that is to be discussed here is how the children from the kaku kazoku who live in the urban area experience some behaviour deviation, that was callled hikikomori. This paper will explain about the phenomenon of hikikomori.
