Capital formation is very important not only in developing countries but also in developed countries. Every country tries to accumulate fixed capital to finanace its development by implementing some policies such as fiscal policy Based on this, this study tries to analyze the effects to fiscal policy on fixed capital formation in Indonesia. This study uses time series data over the year 1984 to 1998. The OLS method is used to estimate the partial adjustment model in this study. The results show that fiscal policy has positive and significant effects on fixed capital formation. This means that the government palys an important role in encouraging to strengthen the fixed capital formation in indonesia. Meanwhile, the interest rate has negative impact on the fixed capital formation. According to this, government can regulate the interest rate to stimulate the fixed capital formation. Because of this study only analyzes the effects of fiscal policy on the fixed capital formation, the analysis is not complete. To obtain the best results, it is proposed another research that takes into account the fiscal and monetary policies in simultaneous analysis.
