The economic crisis in 1997 has spread to social, cultural, educational fields, even causing humanity crisis. This condition is known as a multidimensional crisis. Society once famous for its hospitality has changed into very provocation - sensitive people and conduct destructive actions. The ability to self - control is disturbed. This phenomeneon is clealry reflected by social conflicts at various locations leaving high numbers of victims. It's regrettable that handlng of the psychological effects did not get enough attention due to the lack of knowledge about these effects. One of these effects is post - traumatic stress disorder, which has a specific diagnostic criteria, different from other anxiety disorders. Social conflicts in indonesia with enhancement of their various cruel dimensions are stressors capable inflicting this disorder. The udnerstanding and knowledge concerning this disorder is a condition sine qua non for those concerned with social conflict settlement in indonesia.
