Palliative treatment is an active effort to lighten the cancer patient's sufferings, especially those which are incurable. Palliative treatment is a holistic approach concerning the bio - psychosocio - spiritual aspects. Cancer treatment in indonesia consists of preventive, early detection, curative, and palliative treatments. High costs are needed to implement the first programme, and on the other hand not all stages of cancer could still be treated. Above all most cancer patients came in already advanced stages. It is therefore hopefully accepted that palliative treatment could be forced to be a priority in treating cancer in indonesia.
