Human myriad potentials can lead human beings to successful lives if they are able to work it out. Human potentials can be divided into three parts namely the cognitive skill, the technical skill, and the emotional intelligence. Among these skills, only the emotional intelligence is the one which is lacking in formal educational settings, so that not all people having technical and cognitive skills will automatically have emotional intelligence as well. This research was conducted with employees / non - production staf of PT. Dharmabakti Pakindo (N = 21) as subjects tested with the emotional quotient inventory from reuven bar - on. The performance appraisal data of the employees were collected from the factory's documentation archieves. The results of the data analysis with the product moment and fourth rank partial correlation analysis shows a very significant correlation between the emotional intelligence and the employees' performance.
