Various analytical techniqwues are used to assets a compan's financial strength. The key variables are liquidity, profitability, growth potencial and overall risk. Traditionally, analysts have concentrated on the relationships captured in the income statement and the balance sheet. But more emphasis is now placed on cash flows and the relationships of data reported on the cash flow statement in conjuction to the income statement and the balance sheet. The data from cash flow statement can be used to compute selected ratios that help determine a company's financial strength.
