Isi artikelPeople involved in sports used to think that exercise at high altitude could improve performance of athletes of aerobic sport events. this assumption is based on a theory that hypoxia at high altitude can can induce erythrocyte by activating erythropoietin (EPO) which in turn improve oxygen carrying capacity. some hematological and physiological parameter including haemoglobin (Hb), EPO activity, and cardiac output are improved after training at high altitude. yet, this improved parameter will return to normal as the athletes return to live and compete at sea level. in conclusion, training at high altitude will not benefit the athletes when they live and compete at sea level.
