In the past, life style factors such as stress and diet were believed to be responsible to the development of the peptic ulcer. moreover, researchers found that stomach acids (hydrochloric acid & pepsin) contibute to ulcer formation as well. to days research shows that most ulcers develops as a result of infection of H. pylori. thus, it has change our understanding about the cause pf peptic ulcer. these 3 factors, i.e. life style, stomach acid and H. pylori play a role in developing stomach or duodenal ulcers, particularly the infection of H. pylori. therefore, mucosa protective agents and antibiotics are needed as a recommendend treatment for patients with H.pylori, a long with the change of life style and medication to reduce or stop acid secretion.
