Based on the census of population, the increasing of life expectancy rate in Indonesia, will have great affect on the increasing number of elderly people. according to the data of UNO, it is estimated that in 2002 the total number of elderly in the world will reach 25.5 millions. the above data indicate that the health condition of the elderly needs better attention and good care, so that they may always live in good health, be active, productive and independent. a research has been conduted on 142 elderly (33,8% from study population) as respondents in Paroki St. Kristoforus, West Jakarta. the ratio of women and men are 2 : 1 most of the respondents have some complaints of being forgetful (76.1%). the disturbance on senses is mostly lack of hearing (51.2 % and 55.6 % men).
