Alan Scott, was the first pioneer to explore the possibility that small doses of botulinum toxin A could be safely injected directly into overactive muscles, reducing the of muscle contraction. since its introduction in the late 1970s for strabismus and focal dytonia, blepharospasm, botulinum toxin A is being use successfully in the treatment of numerous other disorders include each from of focal dystonia, spasticity, inappropriate muscle contraction in most of the body sphincters, such as those associated with spasmodic dyphonia, achalasia, anal spasm, ans vaginismus, autonomic disorders such as hyperhydrosis, and cosmetically troublesome hyperfunctional facial lines (wrinkles) in addition, myofacial pain syndrome, low back pain, tension and migraine headache. in this paper we would like to write about the usefulness of botulinum toxin A in neurological cases expecially in dystonia.
