Chelitus angulatris is an infection of the skin and labial mocus membrane at the commissures of the lips. a fairly common lesion, it is seen mainly in elderly people. candida is probably the mayor cause, but staphylococci and streptococci may be isolated from the lesions. clinical features are a roughly triangular area of erythema, oedema and persistent. movement of the mouth may cause further craking and bleeding. if the organism involved in a lesion of cheilitis angularis is not candida then the therapy must be modified, in this fungicide acid cream is an effective agent.
