In the country which vital registration system disorganized and poor in quality, verbal autopsy technique was an alternative method that could be used for collecting cause of death data in the community level. verbal autopsy was a method of interview by using structure or open questionnaire. interviewed was done by doctor as interviewer, with the family of the deceased whose knowing the signs and symptoms of diseases process before the deceased passed away. validation studies were done by several researchers, they compared the diagnosis between hospital as a goal standard and verbal autopsy diagnosis.
